The Dog Rescue Helpers Spring Fayre held on the April 15thwas a resounding success!
The whole community came together that day in aid of several Animal Rescues
Local Councillor Bill Anderson opened the event to loud applause and over 250 people enjoyed the day with live music from varying genres playing from 12 until 7pm! There was plenty of space for people to dance with social distancing, and many were up strutting their stuff!
The food was amazing, home made and plenty of it. The drinks flowed and the laughter was just so good to hear.
The Charity raised 2,100 euros – just a breathtaking amount and has been split with 700 euros going to Pat Waterhouses rescue, Pats Rescue Retreat, 700 euros to Almas de los 4 Patas and 100 euros each to Domino Dogs of Malaga in need Organisation, Podencos y Mas, Kay Millington of Rescued Paws Spain, Pawsawhile Dog Rescue, ARCH, Operation Great Escape and Todos Caballos del Mundo – you can find all of these rescues on Facebook or on the Internet if you would like to offer them support.
A massive thanks to Rocco of Club Miraflores Restaurant for allowing us to host the event here and providing the food.
Thanks goes to the person who mostly organised all of this, Marti Oliphant, and the people she had to help her too – Amanda Baker Crayford, Jane Lauezzari and Sanne Stahnke who collected an incredible array of Raffle prizes and the Jacuzzi which was auctioned and donated by Favells Spas.
The music, just wow, and I know some of the performers have taken private bookings from this event, which is fabulous – all arranged expertly by Jochen Janz, performers were JoAnnA, Nathan Dean, Gilly Sax, Rock of Ages, The Rocket Boyz, Shaun Greaves, Steve Owen, Martene and Wayne Ward, all were excellent.
The stallholders had some amazing items for sale, Woofin Good Treats had natural dog treats, Samatha Fuster baked several cakes to buy a slice and one for guess the weight of the cake, Jane Davidson with her dog essential oils, Lorna Marshall with upcycled items, Angie with natural candles, and Debbie Parsons with jewellery and pre loved clothes. Deli de Paula had a sweetie stand
