About Me, my story

Who am I?

About Me

Heyyy there!

Nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by 😊 You know my name, I was born in the mid sixties (that seems sooooo loooong agoooooo now!) In London, the epi centre of the world, well, it was at that time 😊

My father is Greek, French Italian, mother is English – so no surprise then that I didn’t really settle in the UK and in my late 20’s decided to move to warmer climes, Spain.

As a May child, I am stubborn, yet loyal. But stubborn! I have never believed in NOT being able to achieve something I have really, really wanted, and so far, there’s been no exception! I have been involved in and or studied many differing skills over the years.

I was destined to study medicine at St Marys in Paddington, until a cruel twist of fate saw me be involved in a car accident whilst driving home to collect the school tuck shop money (I was running the tuck shop). I was hospitalised and left with a fear of needles and pain, so that was med school scrapped.

I went off the rails a bit, left home, at 17, moved in with my boyfriend and started work with him on the building site he was working on as a plumber and developer. I learned loads, and it was fascinating. I remember still working putting up false ceilings in a property in Tottenham less than a mile away from the riots!! Heard nothing! Property became a love of mine. My boyfriend’s multi-millionaire business partner took pity on me, a mere girl working in muck, and offered me a job with his company.

Catapulted into the middle of the 80’s property boom, the boss bought a real estate agency, and on the Monday after renovations, I was installed as manager. Having never set foot in a real estate agency before! The phones rang off the hook all day long, properties literally were listed and sold a few minutes later on the phone. Mad times!

From there I met the man who would become my first husband and father of my two wonderful children. He was an electrician, working in London, originally from Hartlepool in the North East of England. We fell in love and I moved jobs to work in a mortgage business, office based, processing the mortgages. Interesting for a while but then it became quite tedious. The boom was slowing - people started to default on their mortgages, meaning our commissions were being clawed back. Our contracts were quite tight and whilst working with a lawyer I started to handle more and more of that workload, eventually being moved to my own little office with 2 other people under my guidance. This awoke a passion for the legal system in me – in the past I had had to stand up for myself in the legal system to ensure payments from companies – and later on in my life I would take an ILEX course on my way to become a lawyer.

But back to then. I had bought a home in the midlands, we were going up there at weekends, a professional couple with a dog. I decided I wanted out of London and so we moved to the midlands, to the village of Clowne (the name will become apt later…) in 1998. I set up as my own mortgage broker, things were doing well, I had a BMW and one of the first ever Motorola HUUUUGE mobile phones and then the recession hit. Hard. At the same time, I found myself pregnant. I managed to pay any small businesses I could and then went bankrupt as no one would employ me. I lost the car, all my money and my dignity. We moved back to London to take over the family car repair business from my parents, moving in with them, but alas that didn’t fare well, and we all fell out!

We moved in to the flat my husband had bought in London and tried to work out what to do. We moved back to Clowne, and guess what – I was pregnant again! We had managed to buy a home up in Hartlepool and moved up there to be close to the in laws and family, having come from a small family myself I was relishing the love and support from them. But no, life doesn’t quite work out like the films, does it.

We lived up there for 3 years, child No 2 came along, with 2 kids only 14 months apart I spent the next few months in my pyjamas with wild hair trying to feed and clean the right ends!!!

And soon I had had enough. We saw a documentary about New Zealand and got carried away with the romance of moving there. A little research (no internet back then) via the library and we realised unemployment was high, but Australia looked good. We could just about afford to sell here and by a modest place there – Brisbane we were on our way!

Meanwhile I had started my ILEX course and after 2 years I had those under my belt. I was also working as a silver service waitress to bring money in – I can’t sit still and always want to work.

One reference off sending the forms in finally, and my parents offered us use of their villa in southern Spain. It was closed to the UK in case and so we accepted.

In February 1995 we flew out, and I’ve never looked back!

Sadly, it didn’t work for my marriage and we separated. Over the years I have divorced No1, remarried then divorced No 2 and am now very happily married to my soulmate. It’s been 13 years so far and it’s still wonderful. For me anyway, and he doesn’t get much say 😉

People ask me why I have got married 3 times. My answer? I love wedding cake!!!

But I digress. Why am I doing what Im doing? How have I jumped from property to Wellness?? Well, let me explain. Since I left school, I was always overweight. I would diet, lose weight then gain and repeat. Classis Yo-Yo dieter. Once pregnant I gave up on myself and just ate anything and everything, twice! I was always meant to be fat I decided. I pretended to not care. But I did. It hurt and often I hated myself. I wouldn’t have full length mirrors, and only wore elasticated clothes. That way I sort of convinced myself that I was happy.

And then, one day, I was showing some people around a property here in Spain. I walked up a flight of stairs, then realised I was puffing and panting like crazy! I felt sharpish pains and decided I ought to go to a doctor to get checked out. By this time, I was a single mum having split up with my husband and living in a foreign country made it hard. He took bloods and, on the results, told me that I was fat!!! Not JUST fat, but that I had a lot of visceral fat, the hard fat around my organs, and that if I didn’t lose weight soon, I was heading for all sorts of diseases and issues very fast! This scared me massively Here I was, single mum, and I was literally eating myself to death. I had to do something, not for me, but for my kids!!

I was recommended Herbalife nutrition products, not only because of the results they had around the world, but also because of the coach that came with them. To support you and keep you on track. I wasn’t convinced they would work, but I was desperate, so I went on a plan.

I thought it would be just smoothie shakes, but it wasn’t. I replaced a couple of meals with their complete meal shakes, but then also had a normal evening meal and 1-2 snacks a day. I learned more about food and what to eat and also that I needed to eat MORE than I was! Slowly but surely the weight came off, I lost 5 stones, which is 31kg or 68lbs body fat and felt amazing! I didn’t fall asleep in the daytime anymore. I had the energy to keep up with my kids, my skin was loads better, I had confidence, I could concentrate, and my immune system was loads stronger too!

I stayed a client for 12,5 years, loving how the products made me feel, no calorie counting, no deprivation – in fact this wasn’t a diet but a way of life. I didn’t have to think about it.

And then in the recession of 2006, I lost most of my real estate business, I took a part time job in a video rental shop, I cleaned peoples houses and still it wasn’t enough money. My lovely daughter finished high school with the chance of entering university as a top student, and she decided on Sevilla learning biology and then into studying cellular activity. Somehow, I needed to find an extra 400 euros a month to keep her there, and at the time I couldn’t pay the electricity bills, we kept getting cut off!

I also got ill and stressed and developed breast lumps and cervical cancer cells. It really all does happen at the same time, doesn’t it! Thankfully I had met a wonderful man who became my husband, and he supported me through it all, but not financially – because I’m an independent person and have my pride.

I looked for another job, to bring in that 400 euros. I messaged a few people I trusted, including my Herbalife coach, who had become a good friend over the years. She invited me to a meeting and my initial response was ‘but I don’t do hard sell!’ She told me they didn’t and why not come and find out about it.

I decided to go as I couldn’t say NO to something I hadn’t seen, right? Very nervously I went, expecting to be pounced on, but it wasn’t the case. Everyone was friendly and smiley and positive – just what I needed. I was amazed at the marketing plan – the products I knew worked from my own experiences, but I then suddenly saw a way I could make an income, a pension plan and savings (none of which I had) and from my own home too! With very little outlay.

I immediately signed up and slowly got to work, sharing my results and experiences with anyone. Over time I built my business to a high level, have helped many people get great results and feel loads better and have helped many start up and continue their own businesses too. I get a GREAT buzz about that 😊

I was able to quit the cleaning, I also quit the DVD shop – and good job as after a year that closed down due to not enough business and this is what I do full time. I help with charity too and working flexibly has enabled me to work around my family and rescue dogs with my own timetable.

We now live in a lovely villa in the countryside of Spain, with our own pool and loads of land to roam around in. I organise my own schedule and love just chilling out in the garden.

We have travelled extensively thanks to Herbalife

I adore what I do, it’s not work, it’s a lifestyle that anyone can attain with a good attitude and consistent work.

I would love to help you achieve the same, if not more than what we have. Just get in touch and let me show you how 😊
